Hopefully everyone is enjoying the summer and a break from Basketball. Or, that you’re enjoying working on your game ready for next year! Speaking of next year, the deadline for team entry to the Men’s Somerset league is approaching fast.
Former Taunton Tigers and Wells Warriors sharpshooter Alastair Bird answers questions about his move to Texas and the Basketball over there, both playing and watching.
We are looking forward to next season and we hope once again to be running the Senior Men’s Somerset League. Teams are asked to contact the league and inform us of your intentions for next year.
Huish Taunton Tigers will be holding selection and assessment days for all squads during April on the following dates. Huish Taunton Tigers are also intending to run a senior men’s national league team for the 2017/18 season.

On Sunday 26th February, Millfield School hosted a SBL Junior Central Venue Tournament at Millfield Prep School featuring teams from Somerset League clubs. The results of the day’s matches are listed below.
With just four games left to play in the 2016/17 SBL there is still potential for changes in the table. Bridgwater Baltics are poised to steal second place from Huish Hornets and could still be champions if they win their last 3 games!
Huish Hornets played their final league game of the season on Thursday 9 February when they hosted Team BC Bucs at Richard Huish College in Taunton. A Huish victory would see them go top of the league with a 7 win, 3 loss record.
