With Team BC looking for their first win of the season and Dragons keen to prove themselves, it was the away team who got off to a tremendous start with 5 made three pointers in the first quarter. Siwicki had a great start for Dragons with back-to-back 3’s and the hot shooting continued with one each from Padilla, Okwara and Mloston. At the end of the first Dragons had jumped out to a 25 – 12 lead but would fail to maintain their pace as the match progressed.

Team BC bounced back very strongly in the second, led by Richard Anderson who scored 3 threes’ and 13 points in total for the period. Youngster Domas Varza also played well for Team BC contributing 8 points, towards the team total of 28 in the quarter. Dragons however, failed to capitalise on their good start and early lead, scoring just 3 points. Team BC held a 12 point lead going into the second half 40 – 28.

The third quarter was a similar story as Team BC continued to dominate, cementing their lead. 9 points from forward Chris Perry, adding to his total of 18 for the game. Dragons started to find their range again but it wasn’t enough with the quarter finishing 19 – 10 in favour of Team BC, giving them a 21 point lead going into the final period.

Dragons battled hard till the end, with Siwicki scoring a further 8 points towards his total of 16 and helping win the fourth quarter by a single point 13 – 14. The game finished 72 – 52 to Team BC with the vital work being done in the second quarter. Richard Anderson top-scored with 21 points, Chris Perry had 18 and Domas Varza scored 12.

Taunton Dragons will have to wait till February 24th to redeem themselves against Team BC when they host them at Castle Sports Centre for the return home fixture.
