The league has finalised fixture dates and times for the upcoming 2017/18 Somerset Basketball Season and released the information to clubs. The league will commence October 13 with Team BC Bucs vs Bridgwater Baltics.

Taunton Tigers made their return to senior National League Basketball this week after a 5-year absence. Playing at their new home venue, Richard Huish College, they hosted Bristol Academy Flyers II in the National Cup first round.
Somerset Basketball has received entries from six teams for the upcoming season which means the league will once again run for the 2017/18 season. Format and start date for the league are still to be confirmed.

Though it is taken for granted in today’s game, the three point shot didn’t always exist. In the NBA, prior to 1979 all field goals, no matter where a player shot from, were worth 2 points.
