Taunton Dragons finished the league competition in second place after losing just twice over the course of the season and have arrived at the final via a convincing 123 – 70 semi-final victory over third place Culm Valley Comets.

After finishing league runners-up in 2016/17, Bridgwater Bucs have bounced back this year, adding another league title to their outstanding record. Their semi-final was a much closer result, but they earned their place by defeating local rivals Bridgwater Baltics 65 – 61.

This year’s final promises to be an exciting matchup. The first league encounter between these two teams this year went down to the wire. Dragons prevailed in that match, with a one-point victory, 71 – 72. Bucs were able to avenge the loss however when they defeated Dragons 67 – 81 in the return fixture.

It will be the fifth time the two teams have faced each other, with the historic record favouring the Bucs’ 3 wins and 1 loss record. Dragons have proved themselves in just their second season though by finishing runners up and they will be keen to unseat the reigning champions.
