Final fixtures and standings of the 2016/17 SBL
28With just four games left to play in the 2016/17 SBL there is still potential for changes in the table. Bridgwater Baltics are poised to steal second place from Huish Hornets and could still be champions if they win their last 3 games!
With 7 wins Huish Hornets are guaranteed at least a third place finish. They can hang on to second place but only if Baltics were to lose all of their remaining games which would give them the edge by a single point. However, Baltics need just one victory to guarantee them second place.
Team BC Bucs have two fixtures left to play: at home to Tornados and away to Baltics. A win in one of those games would equal Taunton Dragons’ record but with the head-to-head favouring Team BC, they would take fourth spot. Two wins and the result is the same but two losses for Team BC means Dragons claim fourth and the playoff place.
Bridgwater Bucs are in a strong position again this season at the top of the table and with their undefeated streak still intact. Their final two games are both against Bridgwater Baltics and will decide who finishes top. Bucs need just one win to remain champions and history is on their side. However, the Bridgwater club rivalry has been a good one over the years with Baltics consistently pushing Bucs close and with the last 5 games between the teams all being decided by less than 10 points.
With all that happening it promises to be an exciting end to the league competition! See the remaining upcoming fixtures or view the 2016/17 SBL competition.
